Stroller Free
When we got pregnant with our second, everyone kept saying we'd need to invest in a double stroller. I thought that was silly, we barely used the single as it was! We occasionally used it for events to carry the diaper bag... Once we had our third, I acquired a free double jogger and it does come in handy when I need to get somewhere faster than little 2 year old legs can walk. I have fibromyalgia and carrying over 45 lbs of kid plus a little bag for diapers/medical supplies is just not possible any more. So even though we're using the stroller a bit more, it still didn't occur to me to me to pack it on our day trip this morning! So today, thanks to grandma's fanny pack, we battled the zoo with three kids and no stroller!

Review: Pretty Paisley Productions' Georgiana
Wrap: Pretty Paisley Productions Georgiana by Wood-N-Woven
Size: 4.6m (measures 4.9m post wear)
Width: a little over 76 cm
Fiber content: 100% cotton, 8/2 warp and 10/2 weft
Weave: 2/2 Twill
GSM: 285
The short version: If you like wide, thick, but floppy handwovens with plenty of support and stretch, you will like Georgiana. Would be overwhelming with a squish, but the snuggle factor is amazing.
Full version: I was very excited to try this handwoven from a local company! Pretty Paisley Productions has been dying baby wraps and is now expanding their realm to offer gorgeous handwovens. She's offered some truly lovely work and this is no exception!
First impressions are always important and Georgiana did not disappoint. The black weft twill really catches your eye and give the wrap tons of dimension, it is a visual chameleon. It almost moves if you look to hard at it. I am not a fan of rainbow, but the weave makes the colours pop without it being too flashy. At first touch, I was very impressed by the softness and cuddle factor. This is definitely a wrap that could be tossed on the couch after use and it would quickly be snatched up for a blanket. Some twills I've handled had a bit of a rougher feel, but not Georgiana!
I have petite children and I will say that I am preferring more narrow wraps recently. The thickness and width would be ideal for toddlers, I feel that it would be overwhelming with a infant (especially the leg passes and knot). You don't need a pillow for wrap naps here! Almost like padded shoulders, the width really enhances the cush factor. Even a good ruck was comfortable on my shoulders while I made dinner with a sleeping baby. The stretch also makes it seem wider than it truly is.
Even though there is a ton of stretch, I did not experience any sagging! It gives a fabulous chest pass that really conforms to your body, very ace bandagey. My carries were all high and snug, even over long periods. The twill provides some lovely grip, but it wasn't difficult to wrap with and the passes went into place easily. I am a big fan of candy cane chest belts and it was easy to thread through the opposite ruck strap, but holds a half knot beautifully.
I have very high standards when it comes to weaving and Georgiana is well woven. The selveges could stand to be a little neater, but evenly tensioned. Bobbin changes are unnoticable and I did not see any weavers knots or stray ends poking out. There is a small skip near the tail, but this is a handwoven item and I like to know real people were lovingly crafting it for babies to be cuddled in!

Stash Shot Sunday
I've been enjoying a ton of churning lately and it's been interesting to see the changes it's gone through! All the churning has really helped me fine tune my preferences. My current preferences are thin in hand, glidey, and narrow! Wool has also taken over as it generally meets all those characteristics.
Not only has my wrapping quality changed, but I've also started adding in more neutrals recently. I still love my big bright wraps! Sometimes it's nice to not have to worry so much about matching my clothes sand wrap though.

Posterior Tie Revision Day 11
Almost 2 weeks post revision. I have good nights (tongue stays in proper position, no mouth breathing or thrusting), then a bad night. My narrow palate is a huge annoyance as it makes my teeth irritate my tongue. While my speech was better immediately post revision, I almost think it is a bit worse now. Maybe because the wound bugs me (I can feel it). Loving how well my lip is healing! Haven't had a migraine this week, only a minor headache due to lack of sleep. Thank you teething baby lol

Post Revision Day 3
All the liquid stitch has fallen off, that was the only thing causing me pain. Today it feels quite a bit more swollen and stiff. I am stretching it all different ways and that really helps! I had a start of a migraine (need to get into a cst asap!), but it was easily taken care of with Motrin. That never happens! My swallowing has changed and my tongue no longer thrusts. When I yawn, my tongue elevates as well. All good signs! Hopefully getting rid of the tongue thrust at rest will happen soon too

Day 2 After Revision
I was feeling like my lift was not as high as immediately after revision, but it seems like it's more that I can open my jaw a ton wider! I know I won't be able to keep full motion compared to immediately after release (scar tissue, etc), I just need to be less paranoid. There was also more pain in my tongue today, but that has completely resolved now that the liquid stitch type covering has fallen off during dinner. I plan on waking several times tonight to stretch my tongue just in case. My lip is healing nicely and rarely bothers me. Stretching it actually feels good! My husband is impressed with its range of motion and wants me to check his now... I'm fairly confident he escaped the tongue tie (his entire family is tied), but haven't fully examined him.
Before the purple stuff flaked off
There was some asymmetrical restrict today, but that's resolved with the removal of the purple covering

Revision: The Day After
I feel like my lift isn't as much as it was yesterday, but no signs of reattachment and I'll keep stretching it during the day. I was expecting it, as I now scar tissue and the swelling (plus normal slight reattachment as it heals). No pain! My lip feels a bit swollen and slightly uncomfortable if I move it side to side, but I feel like it's more the purple stuff starting to flake off or stick. I think I'm going to do some sweeps on it just in case. This is also the first night I've slept with my tongue on the roof of my mouth! While awake, I still tongue thrust, but in a drowsy state my tongue naturally kept in the appropriate place without feeling like it was folded in half.
